Voting Criteria
To vote in Lincoln County, you must meet the following criteria:
- 18 years old, or older, on, or before, the next election
- A citizen of the United States
- Have lived in Lincoln County, MT for at least 30 days
- Registered to vote as required by law
You cannot vote if:
- You are currently a convicted felon serving a sentence in a penal institution
- Have been judged in a court of law to be of unsound mind
Click on the links above to Register to Vote or sign-up for an Absentee Ballot (vote by mail). Print and complete the form, sign it and return to the address listed below.
Regular voter registration closes 30 days prior to Election Day. If you miss the regular registration deadline, you may still register for the election by coming to the Election Department at the Lincoln County Courthouse until noon the day before the election and then from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day

Regular Election Days
- School Election: First Tuesday after the first Monday in May, each year
- State and County Primary: First Tuesday after the first Monday in June, even years
- Sate and County General: First Tuesday after the first Monday in November, even years
- City Primary: First Tuesday after the first Monday in September, odd years
- City General: First Tuesday after the first Monday in November, odd years
